World Wide Food (W.W.F)
Y6, 2022
WWF (World Wide Food fundraiser) started when my friend received a cotton candy machine for Christmas. We wanted to put the machine to good use, alongside a popcorn machine belonging to another friend.
My friend wanted to sell the cotton candy, however, she didn’t have a license to sell food. She contacted me, and we decided to open a stall outside my parent’s retail shop. Knowing that many of Sai Kung’s residents owned pets, we decided to raise money for the charity WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature). As you can tell, that was where we got inspiration for our stall’s name.
Using a popcorn machine and the cotton candy machine, we managed to raise 845HKD.
Every coin and banknote contributed to the success of our stall that day, and we realised that all the small acts and donations we received eventually made a big difference. People donated coins, $20 banknotes, $50 banknotes, and some even $100. However, no matter how many they donated, their contribution still helped, and slowly, the empty jar became full.
