2022 HK Innovative Science Fair - Project: WME

Y6, 2022

WME (Writing Made Easy) was a collaborative project with friends. Our aim was to help people write and correct spelling mistakes by making an e-paper screen on a bracelet that detects the spelling mistakes using AI.

I was quite disappointed when I found out we didn’t win. Our team put a lot of effort into the product, and a lot of time. We used to meet about three times a week to make it work. We received a merit award.

Through this process though, I realised just how far we have come. From brainstorming, to the finished product, many of our plans have come alive.

Although I was disappointed, I was also very proud. I was proud of the journey we had taken, the perseverance, resilience, and time we spent. It truly wasn’t about the end product, but the journey we took, and challenges encountered. Much of our experience has benefited us. We know how to present our product, speak publicly and even under pressure, design a product, and plan a product.

Many of our efforts have not gone to waste, because there is always something that we gain, achieve, learn, and benefit from it.
